SEPA is passionate about supporting the next generation of high-performing podiatrists.
The SEPA Research Scholarship is aimed at promoting pathways for clinician-researchers. This will provide career opportunities, advance the scientific evidence base within the field, and be a catalyst for knowledge sharing within the sports and exercise medicine community. SEPA is committed to providing a platform to further careers in sports and exercise podiatry and advancing podiatry within sports and exercise medicine.
SEPA Research Scholarship Overview
The SEPA Research Scholarship is a $5,000 per year grant to PhD candidates and Research Masters students within the field of sports and exercise podiatry. It provides valuable financial aid for high-performing research students to further their research projects and disseminate knowledge within the sports and exercise medicine community.
- PhD candidates will receive funding over three (3) years, totalling $15,000, paid in annual instalments of $5,000.
- Successful Masters students will receive a one-off $5,000 grant.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be enrolled as Higher Degree Research students at an Australian university, either as PhD candidates or Masters students. Additional weighting is given to applicants who are podiatrists and/or current financial members of SEPA.
How can it be used?
The Scholarship provides top-up funding for Higher Degree Research students undertaking thesis projects related to sports and exercise podiatry. This can include musculoskeletal pathology, exercise interventions, arthritis, biomechanics, exercise and diabetes, and active children.
