I almost fell into podiatry, but once I discovered what it involved, I realised it was right up my alley and have never looked back! I have worked with the same MSK clinic for the past 16 years where we have significant involvement with both Christchurch Netball, as well as relationships with locally hosted long-distance running events. I love trying to grow our professional awareness, and have spent time on the PodNZ board, as well as helping with the development of Sports Podiatry in New Zealand, and fostering our relationship with SEPA.

I don’t really have a career highlight. What motivates me is seeing people being able to continue doing the thing they love, or achieve a goal which an injury has been holding them back from achieving.

I attended an Australian conference where SEPA was a key sponsor, and I loved the sound of their education opportunities. However, I discovered that you had to be registered with Ahpra to be a member, and so have been worked with the Board for the past 3 years to change things to include NZ members. I’m really excited that SEPA will be able to bring that high level MSK education to New Zealand members in the near future.
