Expressions of Interest – SEPA Events Sub-Committee

Are you passionate about SEPA? Keen to contribute your expertise and experience to help develop SEPA's CPD events?

Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia is calling for expressions of interest from members who would  like to join the SEPA Events Sub-Committee. 

Purpose of the Committee

The purpose of the Committee is to develop and advance the vision and mission of Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia through the organisation of the SEPA Conference and other SEPA CPD events to help foster quality scientific and professional interchange of knowledge and ideas,  across the field of sports and exercise podiatry.

Make-up of the Committee

The Committee should represent SEPA as an organisation  and contain members drawn from a variety of settings (clinical, research, education).

  • Gender equality
  • Diverse geographic representation
  • Must be financial members of SEPA

The Committee Skills Matrix will be utilised to identify appropriate Committee members. The requirements are:

  • Expertise knowledge and experience 
  • Australian experience in the field of sports and exercise podiatry
  • Well-connected network within the sports and exercise field in Australia
  • Desirable: Previous experience in state-based, national or international conferences/events – either as a speaker or organiser. 


Committee members’ standing in their community will be utilised to identify trending topics and speakers. Members should be prepared to utilise their contacts to provide invitations to speakers for events. 

The Committee will be constituted based on an expression of interest call and a direct approach to appropriate members. This process will be conducted by the SEPA Events Chair and the proposed Committee must be approved by the Board.

Role of the Committee

The roles and responsibilities of the Committee include:

  • Selection of keynote and invited speakers for CPD events
  • Coordinate the scientific program of SEPA’s events (i.e. workshops, webinars, symposia, conferences)
  • Select chairs for Conference sessions when required
  • Select hosts for keynote speakers 
  • Assist with events organisations (e.g. room bookings)
  • Attend all organised meetings for events
SEPA Support for Committee Members
 

Members of the SEPA Events Committee will receive complimentary events registration to SEPA events, including the SEPA conference.
