Join us as we embark on a new chapter of SEPA CPD: a Trans-Tasman sports and exercise podiatry conference held in the stunning adventure capital of New Zealand: Queenstown.
As the name suggests, the theme of this conference is collaboration. Being a boutique Conference with limited registrations available, expect a solid clinical program, along with plenty of opportunities for networking and collaboration with podiatrists from across Australia and New Zealand – all against the scenic backdrop of Queenstown.

Keynote speakers
Assoc. Prof. Luke Kelly
Luke Kelly is an Associate Professor of Allied Health Research and Director of the Australian Centre for Precision Health & Technology, at Griffith University. He is a trained podiatrist (QUT) with a PhD in Biomechanics and Motor Control (University of Queensland).
Luke’s research incorporates approaches from biomechanics, neurophysiology and morphometrics to understand how the interactions between structure and neural control influence foot function, and the influence of our feet have on whole body mechanics and energetics. His research program has broad applications across a range of areas, including health (e.g. chronic musculoskeletal conditions), athletic footwear innovation, high-performance sport, and technology development.
Luke’s research program has attracted more than $6 million in research funding since 2015, for projects funded by the Australian government and commercial partners.
Dr Sue Mayes AM
Dr Susan Mayes AM is The Australian Ballet’s Director of Artistic Health and has been their Principal Physiotherapist since 1997.
She is a world-leading dance physiotherapist, an expert on foot and ankle injury management and consults for professional sports world-wide. Sue is an Adjunct Associate Professor at La Trobe University and received their Distinguished Alumni Award in 2018. She has led a research partnership between The Australian Ballet and La Trobe University since 2017 that is currently researching foot joint health in dancers and athletes.
Sue has been invited to speak at international conferences and lectures throughout Australia, UK and Europe.
She was awarded an Order of Australia in 2020 for her services to Physiotherapy.
Dr Adam Castricum
Dr Adam Castricum is a Fellow with the Australasian College of Sport & Exercise Physicians (ACSEP) and currently consults as a sport and exercise physician at Axis Sports Medicine, Queenstown.
During his career, Adam has held several prestigious positions within elite sport including Chief Medical Officer for Athletics Australia, as well as Head of the Australian Athletics medical team at both the 2012 London & 2016 Rio Olympic Games. In 2014, he joined the high performance medical team at Hawthorn Football Club and was involved in the 2014 & 2015 Premierships.
Adam has also served in various governance positions on the ACSEP Board; beginning his tenure in 2015 as Vice President and later serving as ACSEP President from 2016-2019. He is a strong advocate for equality and diversity, and is passionate about improving indigenous, regional and remote health outcomes.
Adam’s professional areas of interest include athletics, all codes of football, triathlon, alpine skiing, exercise prescription and management of lower limb injuries, including OA & stress fractures, adolescent injuries, fatigue in athletes & exercise induced asthma, on which he completed his Masters Research in 2008.
Dr Narelle Wyndow
Narelle Wyndow is a podiatrist with over 30 years of clinical experience and over 20 years of research experience.
She has completed a Grad.Dip.Sc in Human Movement Science, a Masters of Sports Medicine and a PhD.
She is currently working in clinical practice in Hobart, Tasmania, is a consultant to an international footwear company, and is developing her own orthotic sandal brand.
Artur Maliszewski
Artur Maliszewski is a podiatrist and the founder of Footwork Podiatric Laboratory, an Australian company globally renowned for manufacturing high-quality custom orthotics, including state-of-the-art cycling orthotics.
Dissatisfied with the orthotic products available in the market, Artur began crafting his own orthotics, leading to the establishment of Footwork. Initially a small boutique laboratory servicing podiatrists in and around Melbourne, the company has, over three decades, evolved into a leading supplier of orthotics both in Australia and internationally.
Artur’s passion for cycling has been instrumental in the development of custom cycling orthotics. Under his guidance, Footwork has designed a complete custom foot orthotic solution aimed at optimising performance for cyclists. Nowadays, Artur spends his time consulting with Australia’s leading professional cyclists, as well as professional World Tour teams.
